Hair therapy

Skin, hair and cosmetology specialist.

What is hair therapy?

It is a new branch dealing with hair problems by analyzing the hair and the hairy scalp, exploring the physical and psychological reasons and treatment of symptoms.

The hair reacts to the processes, problems and pathological changes occurring in the organic system. The deterioration of the hair quality indicates the person's physical, mental and spiritual imbalance. This condition can be improved by using special products. Definitive improvement can be achieved only together with naturopathic and medical procedures.

We created personalized special hair treatments with herbal medicinal products. For example, we enhance our hair building treatments with agents containing allantoin, burdock, juniper, citrus oils, nettle, eucalyptus, lime, salt from the Dead Sea, Iceland lichen, hyssop, chamomile, thyme, coconut, calendula, flaxseed extract, mallow, birch, rosemary and sage.

During the treatment the hair revives and regains its vitality. The medicinal and cosmetic active agents can exert their most intensive effects when they reach exactly the right place in maximum concentrations where we want to achieve the desired results. To achieve the maximum results, completely personalized treatments have to be created depending on skin types, skin problems, based on a special recipe for natural agents in synergy for each patient. The therapy is quick, almost painless, and its effects are visible after a few treatments.

How does a hair therapist work?

A hair therapist suggests a treatment product based on hair and scalp examination and checks the effects. Then an examination of the organic nature of the problem an the solution with naturopathic methods and medical help follow. The determination of curability is carried out by means of a full examination. The condition analysis of the hairy scalp, the hair roots and hair ends is performed by using a micro-camera. This device is a video microscope, the magnified image of which can be viewed on television or a computer monitor. It shows the hair follicle cycles: states of growth, transition and resting phases. While in sound condition, the hair can be re-grown.

How does our hair grow?

A newborn baby usually has a few inches of hair at birth. The number of hair fibers is genetically determined. The baby's hair grows periodically, because the hair follicles go through growth, transition and resting phases. 85% of our hair is in the growth (anagen) phase, which lasts 2-6 years. Our hairs at this stage live and grow. 1% of the hair is in the transition (catagen) phase, which takes a few days. A this point the cell division stops and the physiological functions of the hair are limited to the transformation process of keratinocitis into keratin. The hair follicles gradually come to the surface through the skin, where they will wither. Then the hair follicle detaches itself from the hair wart. 15% of the hair is in the resting (telogen) phase, and it may take 3-4 months. At this stage the hair follicles keratinise and their life functions terminate. The hair is still in the follicle, but does not grow any more. At the end of the resting phase the hair falls out, providing opportunity for growth phase. Hair growth is under genetic and hormonal regulation. During our lives about 25 new hairs grow out from every follicle, which do not grow longer than a half mm daily. Their quality and color may change during our lives. Their basic characteristics are determined by the androgen hormones. The main elementary substance of the hair is keratin. Keratin is rich in protein and sulphurous amino acids, which provide resistance and flexibility to the hair. After the cessation of pigment production we start getting gray.

What makes the hair fall?

50-100 hairs a day is normal fallout if new hairs also grow at the same time.

There can be several reasons for this:

  • Antibiotics
  • Taking birth control pills (sometimes)
  • Medicinal/Drug side effects
  • Bad effects of hair structure improvement (brushing and drying), chemical damage (dyeing, perming)
  • Improper nutrition (e.g. dieting, excessively greasy food)
  • Hormonal imbalance
  • Various radiations (sun, x-rays, UV)
  • Chemotherapy
  • Low consumption of liquids
  • Untreated bad teeth
  • Fatigue, hair loss caused by general poor condition
  • Menopause
  • Physiological/Mental trauma, negative stress
  • Overactive Thyroid
  • Hair loss during pregnancy and lactation periods
